The best lawyer you want to have should be:
1) Well experienced in the type of case you are charged with (most of my experience has been in DUI, spousal battery, shoplifting and hit & run cases). Ask the lawyer how long he or she has been a lawyer, have them show you proof of their success, ask for references, etc.
2) Willing to do the best for your case (unfortunately most criminal lawyers work for a fixed fee for the case; therefore, whether they put in 50 hours or 5 hours, they get the same amount of money and I have seen too many criminal lawyers who do not put in the amount of hours they should put in). Personally, I hate to lose and am extremely competitive in everything I do. I enjoy walking away from the courthouse with my client smiling (even in law school, I have always wanted to be the top student and I was many times, receiving nationally known American Jurisprudence award four times ).
3) Fairly affordable by charging a reasonable attorney's fee. Many people call our office and ask what we charge for DUI, shoplifting, etc. Again, you usually get what you pay for. Good doctors and lawyers are not cheap. We are not the most expensive nor the least expensive. High percentage of our current clients are people who hired me as their lawyer previously and was satisfied with my work and hired me again. I want to do the best job possible and I can not do it charging a discounted rate.

You can be assured that your identity and your case will remain in absolute confidentiality. By law, I can not disclose my client's identity or talk about the case in public. I do not even discuss my client's identities or cases with my wife or my mother.
